Dear Friends of FACE,

Family Aid-Catholic Education (FACE) provides opportunity for children from financially challenged families, access to high-quality education, without regard to religion, ethnicity, or national origin. This is done through grants for the diocesan schools through Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Since it’s inception, FACE has awarded tuition grants to thousands of students throughout the Oakland Diocese. With the financial help provided by FACE, parents have the option of sending their children to a school that offers academic excellence and the development of the whole person.

FACE was founded in 1978 by a group of men and women committed to giving disadvantage children in the East Bay the chance to attend a Catholic school. They believed that disadvantage stemming from poverty should not prohibit a child from a quality education.

For the academic year 2021-2022, we awarded 884 scholarships, including our partnership The BASIC Fund, leaving 1342 students on our waitlist. Help us reach our goal this year and ensure every student receives a FACE scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year.
